Multiple bathrooms in single houses, undersized communal extraction and high occupancy rates produce chronic mould. The Ruislip and Uxbridge semis show the standard interwar pattern around chimney breasts and external corners.
London Borough of Hillingdon and a range of housing associations operate locally, but the most distinctive feature of the borough's mould-and-damp landscape is the HMO concentration around Heathrow. Hillingdon's environmental health team is active on HMO licensing and Awaab's Law-equivalent timescales are being increasingly applied through local enforcement, even outside the strict statutory remit.
